    Alert Clever Ideas

    This thread started out from an idea posted byRandall.

    Rules For this Thread
    • Post a map idea of your own or by someone(then with credits). (screenshot)
    • Crop it nice. (No mapeditor or in-game borders around the picture)
    • Describe the idea and how to reproduce it.
    • Remove shadow. (view->show shadow)
    • No commenting on pictures, nor chatting.
    • Pictures must be helpful so users can reproduce the idea!
    If the post doesn't follow the rules, it will be deleted.
    The pictures from the old thread, which can be considered following the given Rules, will be posted after this post.


    Have fun with the map ideas and keep posting your own new ideas

    King Komic's map ideas

    1. Top screen shows having a ladder down behind the counter, doesnt have to go anywhere just shows that the shop keeper may have a stock room or somin.
    2. Second one is the NPCs house, remember to lock the door so people can't actually get in that area.
    3. Third is a stall have them at the side of the road have a NPC selling minor goods, not like a massive shop.
    4. Fourth, Half tables - the massive wooden tables sometimes take up to much space so use half of one, use them on south and east walls so the other half is "obstructed".



    On the higher levels of mountains you tend to have use the flat walls to have a good effect, but they occasionally look a bit boring, so you use water fall rocks on these walls to give a bit of texsture you dont want to over do it though, heres what i mean:


    Arrows just dont have to go into targets, adds a bit of spice to ya hunter spawns. Here ive also made it go into a blood splat in the wall where this wolf has died

    Well, i'm going pretty mad on everyone saying some of the snow-to-water-borders(6675-6682) is missing.

    Xaar's map ideas

    First of all, I would like to advice people to use several kinds of floors, since it's a great way of filling out unfilled areas, also it makes the map look abit more advanced and detailed (In my opinion, that is).


    Other then that I would also advice people to start using differnt types of roofs aswell, it makes the roof look abit older, and that it has been repaired once or several times. Oh and don't do this on every single roofs.

    Maniaac's map ideas

    Fixed up a bit by Mmb

    Here are some pictures of Legendaria rookgaard - Flantania Isle.
    Legendaria rookgaard was mapped by me.

    Equipment shop and a random house (nobody can enter it). Note: In cities remember to add some buildings that looks like someone lives there but cannot enter to make it look like a city.


    Rat caves. Pay attention to the detail, and be sure to spice up your caves with water features, and mixed grounds!


    Hidden area between the mountains.


    Flantania Temple, built on a mountain. Make sure not to make your temples too large - Nice and simple is always good, but dont forget to make them unique and always add detail!

    Ice on trees

    I played around with the new sprites and came up with this idea:
    Ice on trees. Make sure it fits the tree and don't use it too often and too much!

    You might want to spice up your steep mountain walls, by adding trees that are actually meant for the making of treehouses. (IDs 6182-6189)
