I wonder if it shouldn't be a good idea if I had access to SVN. I just spend a long time to report this (http://otfans.net/project.php?issueid=742), and I am pretty sure that to directly solve the issues myself and commiting the patches would take less time than to reporting it.
Besides, you guys clearly need some help. I've reported several minor bugs who haven't been corrected yet, even after a long time. And I don't think that there was ever been such a large gap between the release of a new tibia client and the update of trunk to this new version.
Of course that I am not such a great programmer as Remere, Simone, Rafael, hackerpotato, etc. I shouldn't (and I wouldn't!) play with anything related to protocol or anything that I haven't fully understood at the source code. But by letting an amateur to solve some smaller things, the time of the professional ones can be better used at the bigger things. What do you think?

To understand my level of skills programming, just take a look at my patches to svn: http://otfans.net/showthread.php?goto=newpost&t=163154 and http://otfans.net/showthread.php?t=148908, for example. I have also an onLook event 100% done which I haven't posted it because I haven't tested it for items pictured at trade NPC (but I am 99% sure that it will work).

    SOME ADDITIONAL OBSERVATIONS:
    1) I don't think that it is going to be a problem, but I am not very experienced with SVN. I would need to learn how to commit things using kdesvn (or command line): the only thing that I've done with svn until now was "svn update" and "svn resolved".
    2) I need you to understand that I am really not ready for some things. I am not skilled enough to help you to implement a new protocol after an update and there are parts of source code with I am not familiar at all. I would be handy, but only for solving things at those parts of source code in which I would feel to know well enough to do a completely safe job. Even if I have more time limitations than most members here (who are a lot younger) I still think that I could contribute at some small things and relief some time to official developers to work at the hard stuff.

    Cheers,

    Assassina Mutante.

Sorry, but I will not reply requests for help coming from private messages. The right place to ask for help is the forum.

AssassinaMutante has more than enough programming knowledge and ability to assist in fixing lesser issues and adding simpler features.
He should definitely be made an official developer if he's willing to spend his free time helping like this.

I think AssassinaMutante should be an official developer too. Maybe she isn't the better, but well, she is the most active user that contributes nowadays. Also, there are some official developers that knows less and were recruited.

Nate, isn't "he", AssassinaMutante is an woman.
    I'm back, beware kids.

It seems like you do not have many active developers right now. I could make some simple patches and maybe features to the otserv code.
Since I have experience in php too I could help with the development of POT or POF (Something I saw in the SVN).

You could ask Pietia for some reference codes since I've helped him with quite many things. Though I have released some of my codes (CPP and Lua).

Patches are always welcome, if you wanted to assist in anything.
